Who We Are

The Coalition was created through the support of the Worcester County Commissioners, in partnership with the Mayor and City Council from the Town of Ocean City, and with the backing of hundreds of private residents, businesses, and community-based organizations.

We are united by a shared concern about the potential negative impact of the offshore wind project on our local economy, tourism, home values, and the aesthetics of our coastal communities.

Our Origins

The Worcester County Office of Tourism and Economic Development has been at the forefront of opposition to the offshore wind project, serving as a key coordinator of information and advocacy among stakeholders. After extensive discussions over several months, it became clear that opponents of the project would benefit from a formalized, unified organizational effort.

While many individual groups, such as the Ocean City Development Corporation (saveoceancity.org), the Town of Ocean City’s legal efforts, and Worcester County’s permitting actions, have made commendable strides, the Coalition elevates these efforts into a more concentrated, community-based campaign with a common message.

Our Mission

Our goal is to rally diverse stakeholders, tapping into their love for our beautiful shoreline and concern for their livelihoods. We aim to provide education and tools to ensure their voices are heard. We are mobilizing millions of people who cherish Ocean City, Assateague Island, and Delaware beaches to join our Coalition and take action.

The time to act is now. The groundswell of opposition is growing, and people are paying attention. Public officials in Maryland and Delaware must consider the question: “At What Cost?” before approving the US Wind offshore project.

It is not too late to demand answers to these tough questions. Join the thousands of local citizens, business leaders, and elected officials from communities across Maryland and Delaware who have organized a coalition to fight back against US Wind’s false promises.

They demand that government officials from Maryland and Delaware press US Wind and its foreign investors for answers to the question, “At What Cost.” But time is running short.

In Maryland, the Public Service Commission is currently developing a report that will recommend the tax rate for wind energy – the report is expected any time from now until early next year, so time is of the essence.

Your Voice Can Make a Difference!

Some elected officials have bought into the Italian wind developer narrative hook, line, and sinker. But they need to get answers to everyone’s question: AT WHAT COST? Find out where your officials stand.

Help us convince Maryland legislators to tell their Public Works Commission to STOP THIS PROJECT NOW. We’ll keep you informed of news and developments as we fight on.
