Stop the Assault of Offshore Wind on Our Way of Life

Mr. President:

First, thank you for moving so quickly to set a course towards prosperity and achievement for our citizens, voters, families, and businesses.

We’re signing this letter because we need your help.  Our community is under attack by a foreign-owned developer of offshore wind farms.  If successful, this proposed wind farm will have a catastrophic impact on every aspect of our lives and livelihoods.  We are Ocean City, Maryland.  We are by far the largest tourist destination in our state, bringing billions of dollars in economic activity as people come to see our beautiful shore and enjoy our beaches and beach community.

Our commercial fishing industry is generations old, supplying consumers and businesses up and down the coast. Our environment is clean, and our horizon is a clear and beautiful view of the Atlantic.

If US Wind is allowed to develop its massive proposed wind farm off our shore, it will pollute the waters, destroy the seabed and our fisheries, visually destroy our horizon, and ruin Maryland’s most important tourist destination. All this to produce electricity that is unreliable and not viable in the market without the never-ending government subsidies and higher electric bills for every Maryland ratepayer.

We’re signing this letter to ask you to stop this development now by any means possible including ending any and all government subsidies and disallowing Biden era permits that were made without public consent, comment, or even knowledge.  You are our best hope.  Please act today.
